Pioneering Interdisciplinary Approaches to Global Health Challenges

 

 

 

From December 4rd to 6th, the University of Agronomic Sciences and Veterinary Medicine will host One Health International Student Conference in Bucharest, Romania.

The conference is organised with the support of University of Sofia, University of Agriculture in Krakow, UniLaSalle Polytechnic Institute, International Student One Health Alliance.

This event will bring together students, researchers, and professionals from diverse fields to explore the intricate connections between human, animal, and environmental health. The conference aims to foster interdisciplinary collaboration to address some of the most pressing global health challenges of our time.

I. Environment Health and Climate Changes

The Environment Health and Climate Changes section will focus on the critical relationship between environmental factors and public health. Participants will discuss the impact of climate change on disease patterns, air and water quality, and ecosystem health. This section will also highlight innovative strategies for mitigating climate change and adapting to its effects to protect both human and animal populations.

 

II. Animal Welfare

Animal Welfare is a crucial component of the One Health paradigm, recognizing the interconnectedness of human and animal health. This section will cover topics such as ethical treatment of animals, advancements in veterinary care, and the role of animals in human society. Attendees will explore how improving animal welfare can lead to better health outcomes for all species and contribute to a more sustainable future.

 

III. Landscape, Green Areas, and Forests for Healthy Life

The Landscape, Green Areas, and Forests for Healthy Life section will examine the benefits of natural landscapes and green spaces on physical and mental well-being. Presentations will highlight the importance of preserving forests, urban green spaces, and natural habitats for biodiversity and human health. Discussions will include the role of landscape architecture in urban planning and strategies to enhance green areas in cities to promote a healthier lifestyle.

 

IV. Sustainable Plant Production

Sustainable Plant Production is essential for ensuring food security and environmental sustainability. This section will address innovative agricultural practices, the use of technology in farming, and the development of resilient crop varieties. Participants will discuss ways to increase agricultural productivity while minimizing environmental impact, ensuring that plant production systems are sustainable and capable of supporting a growing global population.

 

V. Healthy Food and Nutrition

The Healthy Food and Nutrition section will focus on the relationship between diet, health, and sustainability.
